Equipment parts verification photo desk prevents fitting errors
When stamped numbers wear smooth or labels dissolve under hydraulic fluid, photograph the damaged part against a scale. Ivan Petrov inspects bolt patterns, shaft splines, and port angles at our Austin facility before we ship.
Grid staging guidelines
Accurate photographic matching requires two dimensional references: an overhead perspective showing mounting centers, and an angle shot capturing connection profiles.
Three essential camera angles
A blurry corner shot makes it impossible to distinguish an M10 bolt hole from a 3/8–16 thread. Place a tape measure or steel ruler directly beside the component when taking your photos.
- Direct top-down view showing full perimeter and bolt circle diameter
- Side profile capturing overall height, pulley offset, or bracket ears
- Close-up of electrical plugs, wire pins, or hydraulic port thread faces
| Component Group | Critical Photo Feature | Required Scale Tool | Catalogue Bracket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brake Friction Pads | Backing plate ear geometry and wear sensor notch | Ruler along total length | $69.99–$76.99 |
| Charging Alternators | Mounting ear spacing (inside vs outside spread) | Calipers across pivot ears | $249.99 Fixed |
| High-Pressure Fuel Pumps | Inlet/outlet barb angle and internal locking tab | Direct top-down angle | $93.99 Fixed |
| Commercial Batteries | Terminal layout (+ left vs + right) and hold-down ledge | Top-down terminal view | $239.99–$259.99 |
| Industrial Consumables | O-ring cross section, filter thread pitch, seal lip count | Quarter or rule for scale | $9.99–$22.99 |
| General Replacement Parts | Shaft spline tooth count and step diameters | Shaft face and length view | $3.49–$239.99 |
Physical inspection checks
Ivan Petrov verifies received photographs against physical parts in our Austin inventory racks before preparing your quote. We check three primary mechanical dimensions.
We measure centerline-to-centerline across opposite bolt holes. A 108 mm circle looks identical to 110 mm in a casual phone photo, but will strip threads during installation.
Multi-pin plugs on alternators and fuel modules come in oval, round, and D-shaped weather-pack bodies. We match pin count, locking tab position, and terminal width.
Our desk counts individual spline teeth and calculates pitch diameter. For smooth shafts, we verify Woodruff key dimensions and taper angles against factory drawings.
We will not quote parts from dark photos taken inside an engine bay where shadows obscure mounting tabs, or screenshots from social media listings. If a photo lacks clear scale, Ivan Petrov will request one additional shot with a tape measure placed across the mounting face before generating an invoice.
Photo review workflow
Submitting clear component pictures gets you an accurate quote and confirmed stock status within hours. Here is the four-step desk review.
Submit photos for matching
Send component details, photo descriptions, or equipment codes. Ivan Petrov reviews all submissions and replies on the same business day.
